Ethyl lauroyl arginate prevents the development of moulds, yeasts and bacteria such as Listeria, which can cause dangerous food-borne infections. In its latest opinion the Efsa states that the concerns and uncertainties expressed for this additive in previous scientific opinions remain unanswered.
